Why Media Conversion?
Available in stand-alone, modular chassis-based, fixed multiport or PCI powered versions, Planet's media conversion products support copper to fibre and fibre to fibre media conversion in the following protocols: Ethernet; Fast Ethernet; Gigabit Ethernet; 10/100, 10/100/1000 and more.
Planet's media conversion product family is designed for FTTx installation for ISPs, enterprises and campuses. Various types of optic connectors are offered flexibly on the distance basis via updating, expanding or optimising network performance in mixed-media switching environments. With industry-leading features, the product family satisfies diverse demands even within limited budgets.

- Smart and Management
The family of WFT/WGT converters is equipped with a set of DIP-switches which helps installers not only choose duplex or speed but also obtain smart LLCF (Link Loss Carry Forward) and LLR (Link Loss Return) capability.
- Power/Link Redundancy
To co-work with the chassis, WMC-1600R, the family of WFT/WGT converters will obtain two kinds of redundancy, link redundancy and power redundancy.
- Protect Investment
New networking applications can take advantage of an Ethernet connection for both power and connectivity.
- Extension and Expansion
With the feature-rich chassis, at least 16 converters shall easily expand the fibre-optic networks by simple plug and play. The wiring distance of Planet's chassis is extendable from 2km to 70km and on request can be extended to 100km.
